Although there is no magic way to get rid of fat [ Stubborn and resistant to training, many have praised CoolSculpting as the closest thing. But are you a candidate? And does it really work? We answered five burning questions about this cool procedure.
What is the CoolSculpting procedure?
This FDA-approved non-surgical procedure freezes fat to get around your body well without surgery or downtime. Select the areas you want to treat and your doctor will use the device (which looks like a wand with a shoebox at the end) to crystallize the fat cells, causing them to die. Your body will naturally process and remove dead cells, reducing the amount of fat in the area.
Does it hurt?
Not usually. For the first few minutes, expect intense pressure and cold, but it will go away quickly. We even know that patients fall asleep during treatment.
How many sessions will I need?
It is preferable to answer this question by the doctor performing the procedure, because the results and the delay vary according to your needs. While treatment is sufficient for some candidates, others may require additional visits to their doctor.
How do I know if I am a candidate?
Your doctor will be able to answer this question definitively, but most CoolSculpting candidates share common traits. If you are not obese, but have visible bulges in certain areas, or if you have pockets of unwanted fat resistant to diet and exercise, CoolSculpting is most likely a good solution.
When will I see the results?
Changes in your body can appear in as little as three weeks after treatment, but you will feel the most dramatic changes after two months when your body removes the majority of fat cells. Additional improvement can occur for six months after treatment and, from now on, the results of CoolSculpting are permanent.
