A new solution for sensitive skin

A new solution for sensitive skin

Collagen and peptides are present in many skin care products, and their benefits and sources vary widely.

Now, researchers have discovered that a certain combination, including a collagen tripeptide from a specific marine source, could be the answer sought by those with skin sensitive.

The San Gallicano Dermatological Institute recently identified two compounds with individual capabilities that relieve sensitive skin when combined in a lotion.

The first, a gluco-oligosaccharide, helps protect the skin from infections without inducing bacterial resistance; the other, a collagen tripeptide, stimulates the production of fibroblasts, and it simply happens to be acquired from the skin of a fish.

Together, when applied locally, study volunteers with sensitive skin showed decreased inflammation, roughness and loss of transepidermal water, as well if there is an increase in the uniformity of the skin surface. The researchers also found a stabilization of the pH.

The demonstrated normalization could mean that this combination will appear in future formulas aimed at treating sensitivity.

However, due to the portion of the mixture derived from fish, vegans with sensitive skin should continue to look for another option.
